Had a double ladder stand the guys had hung over looking a big cutover that had probably 3 or so extra ladder sections and multiple braces screwed into the tree to get it up close to 40' with a plywood tabletop/bench/rest connected to the rails. It was right in a small block of old hardwoods that had a small cemetery in it probably 7-8 headstones. It wasn't the safest of stands to say the least, especially the climbing up and down parts, but man that stand was a great place to hunt in the mornings. Never really thought much about the cemetery, but looking back now it's a little ironic considering young and dumb me surely could have met my death hunting that stand...sure was a pretty view though.

Grandma said...Always keep a gun close at hand, you just never know when you might run across some varmint that needs killing...

The best properties I've ever hunted, all had fairly large grave sites, 10-20 or so tombstones, on them. Like someone above said, the timber companies just give them a wide birth and cut around them. Yeah, I'd hunt it.
