Well did the hard reset and nothing. Stupid thing wouldn't even boot up. So I brought it home and on a whim, swapped the sim card and put some different batteries in it and it booted up.

The app wasn't indicating low battery either. Go figure.

I bought the solar panels with the integrated battery. They are 60$. Being that every time I had to change the batteries it cost 30$ they will pay for themselves in short order.

Solar panel with integrated battery is the only way to go as far as I'm concerned. My cameras have never had batteries in them. I use a piece of 2x4 screwed to a metal fence post, panel on top, camera below it. This way I can move them easily and don't have to worry about connecting the 2 pieces each time.
