There's no more worse feeling than being shot at while in the woods. I’ve been intentionally shot at before and it’s no fun but at least I was expecting it, but one time I was sitting in a climber close to the line and started hearing 22s fly all around me, I quickly turned to the other side of the tree but I was scared for a few mins

I had three raccoons try to get into a shoot house with me once. They were pretty pissed that I was in “their” home. I had to shoot all three of them to keep them off of me. Another time, when I was a young teen, me and a buddy had a poacher shoot at us with a shotgun, raining pellets down on us. He got arrested over that one. I had a coon chase me out of a cornfield one evening. Shot it after it came about 4-5 feet from me. Had foam around mouth so I assume it was rabid. Other than that I would say snakes. Seen more cottonmouths that I can count.

Hunting with the dog runners who got in the Dickel for breakfast back in the early 90's. The bullets would be flying everywhere. Did that in MS and had to give up the dog hunting, to many bullets flying in to many directions and I realized how some people just disrespect another persons property.....

Mexican shooting rifles and shotguns at you on your property off 459. Most of you remember the story!

I hunted a place outside of Chatom years ago. Our property was accessed through a community ballpark on one section. We’d park at the back next to our gates. There was a guy who lived directly next to the park on several wooded acres. He would regularly drive out to the road, ease up into the ballpark, and if he saw a truck by one of our gates, go back to the house, get a gun(usually a .22) and fire it randomly into our lease. Like hours of a clock sending a magazines-worth of bullets whizzing into the woods. I had a nice spot about 50 yards across the fenceline that separated his property from our lease which got a lot of travel. One morning he pulled that stunt while I was in a climber in that area. I heard him crank up, could just see his headlights meandering up his driveway, went up the park, saw my truck, drove back. I heard the screen door open and slam shut, open and slam shut again. Then here come the bullets. One buzzed by pretty close then a few shots later one hit a tree right behind me. I leveled my 30-06 directly back and let him have a response, aiming high of course. That was the last time, to my knowledge, that he did that while members were hunting up there.

Mexican shooting rifles and shotguns at you on your property off 459. Most of you remember the story! Remember it well and yet some still don’t understand why you despise “piddlers” so much. That whole saga was dang near movie worthy. . .at least an after school special on why not to trespass, poach, or piddle.

I had a small lease when I lived in Troy. A lady who worked for the same company that I did, was rumored to be a switch hitter. Our company trucks looked identical. I parked on the blacktop one day to hunt and walked into a stand I had not more than 100 yards down the farms road. About an hour into my hunt, a pair of lesbos came timidly walking down the road and got close to my stand. I made it out alive, but it was a close call. True story.
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

Was hunting out of state one time It was late evening when the wind started blowing pretty hard and I hear this unmistakable sound that we who live in the south know all too well It was the sound of a train coming off the side of the mountain I was hunting on I climb down from the ladder and hit the trail at a fast walk when I hear trees falling and its getting closer Im about 1/2 mile from the cabin and I havent ran in many years bc it just hurts me too bad Well its amazing what a good dose of adrenaline will do for a body By the time I started to run I saw the first tree fall which made me catch another gear I was running all out down the trail to the cabin and was going to take the right fork when a tree falls directly in front of me in that right fork...like 20' or closer I stay on the main trail and can see the cabin and its surrounded by a 5 strand barbwire fence to keep out free range cattle To this day I still dont know how I made it through or over that fence but when I hit the door of the cabin I belly flopped behind the counter and took shelter It wasnt a tornado but it was straight line winds and laid down alot of timber coming down that mountain valley
When I need expert advice I tend to talk to myself The older I get the better I used to be

I got charged by a pack of feral dogs. My old Winchester Model 94 served me well. The lead dog got it in the noggin at about 10 yards. I dropped 2 more and shot another down. One dog left without a bullet in it. Feral dogs are the only animal in the part of the state I hunt that I worry about running up on. I’d most likely be concerned about bears if we had them in my area.
