I know I need to do it, but I'll be damned if something ain't hurting every damn day.

Usually it's my lower back, my right shoulder, both knees, and my right elbow, but today my left knee felt like it was going to buckle doing deadlifts.

I take turmeric every day, and honestly without them I think it would be bad, but today, I may just have to pop a couple of Advil.

What does the turmeric do

There are 3 certainties in an uncertain world:

I’d be careful with weights. Our muscles can’t take the abuse like they once could and you’ll wind up tearing one if you go too hard.

I’d do more cardio. I walk 4 miles at lunch 5-6 times a week. Lost weight and all my vitals are in good shape except a little high cholesterol.

It is an anti-inflammatory, so it has lots of healthy benefits. Not the least of which is an anti-cancer herb. There have been lots of scientific studies on it. I like it on food too.

I try to weight lift 5x per week. Full body workouts.

I have slacked on my rucking. (Walking with a heavy rucksack.) but I'm going to resume that next week.

It's good that you have found what works for you though.

Irish, I’m going to suggest something you may think is crazy. I have arthritis in my lower back, three bulging discs, a partially torn rotator cuff and arthritis there too. I take meloxicam for inflammation and it helps a lot. BUT, I’ve found out that taking about 1/3 the recommended dose of creatine daily has really helped my pain. If I hadn’t experienced it, then I wouldn’t believe it. I lift moderate weights and exercise to stay in shape and this has improved my recovery times, lessened my arthritis, and helped strengthen muscles around the sites I have that stay sore and painful. You may want to give it a try and see if it helps you.

A little weight training thrown in will take care of that cholesterol.

Keep moving , but don't over do it. Walking in the mountains is really good , much more than flat ground. I also take Turmeric every day, it's natures anti-inflammatory.

Maybe I should re-phrase. I wasn't suggesting not to weight train, but to not train like you are 18 again. My wife and I joined a gym about 2 years ago and try to go twice a week. I lift but I don't try to PR like I did 30 years ago. lol. A good friend of mine who was a body builder gave me the advice to be smart on the amount of weight I lift or I would hurt myself. Seems like good advice.

Creatine... I had never thought about that, but it makes sense. I was thinking about starting to take it anyway to help with my lifts.

I'll check it out and give some unbiased feedback.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I seem to have no problems staying in shape. I just would prefer the shape to be less rounded.

When I was really young I took creatine - I could always get big fast w muscle - but that stuff helped more

Now I could not get big if I lifted all time. Lov to eat - I cut back on the food and lost 13 pounds - been at stand still for weeks. I need to carefully do some cardio - need to lose 40 more but would be delighted w 15 more - May start riding bike again

Hunt the wind - leave it better than you found it - love your neighbor as you love your self
We need prayer for our country now more than ever

Irish, call down to gadsden Orthopedics in fort Payne, across from Walmart on the hill. Make you an appointment with dr. Haller, hes really helped me. He's at that office Monday, and Friday during football season.

i haven't been able to drop the extra i gained after my second round of Fauci Flu, Feels like my lungs are shot. Was in pretty good shape before, but i feel like i've got to start all over to get back to decent shape. Hoping that getting out during deer and duck season will help with this. But at 61, i'm to young to feel so dang old.
