I have bought the higher price mixes for years until last year. I did not have time to deal with planting and my buddies convinced me to just do straight seed oats, wheat and rye and mix it ourselves. I will be repeating this year. A little more hassle but a lot cheaper and the fields were great, thick green putting greens. Towards the end of season I had been having my plots get too high/rank with the old mix. Looked beautiful but they just were not keeping it ate down. Last year the only place that looked like that was the exclusion cage.
