1. All you need are steroids.
2. Indomethacin is nothing more than a NSAID
3. Foods like shellfish, deli meats and alcohol are high in purine which can trigger an attack. You have gout long enough you will know your triggers.
4. I would only recommend allopurinol if you have multiple attacks in a year
5. Do not stop your allopurinol when you have an attack. You can trigger another one once you get back on it.
6. Lots of water
7. Soaking your affected joint in hot water, hot as you can stand, will help break up the crystals
