Car vs. Motorcycle Accidents: Fatality Rates Year after year, statistics reveal that more people are killed in car crashes than they are in motorcycle crashes. However, when it comes to the rate at which people are dying in these crashes, there’s no question about it: the fatality rates are much higher with motorcycles. You can see the latest data from the Insurance Information Institute (III):
Car vs. Motorcycle Fatality Rates Fatality Rate, 2017 Motorcycles Passenger cars Per 100,000 registered vehicles 59.34 10.05 Per 100 million vehicle miles traveled 25.67 0.94
The III reports that in 2017, the occupant fatality rate per 100,000 registered vehicles was 59.34 for motorcycles and 10.05 for passenger cars. In other words, the occupant fatality rate per 100,000 registered vehicles was nearly six times higher among motorcycle crashes.
When comparing the car vs. motorcycle fatality rate per 100 million vehicle miles traveled, the statistics become even more shocking. The fatality rate with motorcycles was 25.67, compared to a fatality rate of 0.94 for passenger cars. Bottom line?
These statistics reveal that the occupant fatality rate with motorcycles was 27 times higher than that of cars. ===================================================================================
Insurance stat's from a quick Google search. 27x higher fatality rate on a motorcycle. I've never had a motorcycle, but I keep hearing this stat on lawyer commercials and it sounded high before I read above.

Give em hell Irish! Life is too short to fear death. It's inevitable!
There is 2 different high fence. 1 small and one big! Mine was free range in the big pen and was not a breeder buck. Why does it have to be twisted around??

Is the Himalayan too tall for Mrs. Irish? She sold her Bonneville after she had rotator cuff surgery. She couldn't ride for like two months after the surgery, and then afterwards she decided to give up riding. She had a good run though. She rode her own bike for about 10 years and probably travelled in about 10 different states. Not bad for a middle aged woman.
