Really anytime you mix anything it’s counterproductive imo. Nowadays I plant everything separate for the most part. Brassicas strip/plot, clover plots (perennial, maintained), and the exception is ill do winter peas cultipack them, and then top sow a cereal. Ill top sow cereals in the brassicas too if they start getting hit early or something. I’m scratching my head. Variety and different maturity rates and timing is what’s attractive and gained from mixed plots. Having companion plants is a great thing for wildlife and cost effective.
"Cull" is just another four letter word...
