I’m not sure if snake bite still follows the rule of thirds but basically a third of bites are dry, a third are little venom and then a third are full venom.
I’ve been told quail hunters in Texas carried cattle prods, they zap the bite site and supposedly it lessened the venoms effects
Then again those could be old wives tales.
