My 2 year old female catahoula dog was just bit by a snake in neck. We’ve got the blood stopped and do t appear to be on the jugular, also have gotten two Benadryl in her. Anything else I can do here at home. She’s fighting but breathing very heavy. Seems to be paralyzed in the back legs now

Lots of fluids if you can get her to drink. Unless a vet chimes in here quick, I’d call one.

Hope your dog recovers from it

Remove its collar if you haven’t already.

I’d call a vet quick if it’s labored breathing and can’t use her back legs.

The vet told us to keep the Benadryl in her or find an emergency vet for the antivenom, our choice of coarse so we gonna try the home meds now that We got her drinking a little water with a rag and her breathing has calmed down a bunch. We trying to keep her cool as well.

While we're waiting for an update.mine got but on the nose a couple of weeks ago. Got pretty lethargic, sulled up and hid his face in the corner. Face was swollen up bad and a thick stream of drool to the carpet. By the time I got dressed and ready for work, he stood back up. It was as if he knew cause he followed me out the house and loaded up without me giving him any directions. He was better by the time I got to the vet and the swelling had dropped further down to his neck. Because of that, the face wasn't very swollen anymore. I picked him up later that day.
Keep an eye on him, but don't hover and make him nervous. From your description, it sounds pretty bad. But, alot of folks panic in these situations too, so it's hard to tell over the internet.

Keep the dog as calm as possible.

Thanks Goodman, she’s resting and will move around to get comfortable; she’s not lethargic anymore and is panting but nothing like the heavy breathing earlier. I was going to get her some pedialite but she heard me talking to the other pups and she try to come to me. So I’m sitting here with her and got some old country music playing that she likes. She just got up and moved closer to the door; so hopefully she’s on the right track.

Man I hate that. I hope she does ok. I’ve been wanting to take mine to our property but I know she’ll get bit if we do.

Had a Lab get bit on the nose and swelled up pretty bad. Gave her a Benadryl and the next morning the swelling was gone and she was running around like nothing happened. I don’t know what kind of snake it was though. My German Wirehaired Pointer was inspecting the area but the Lab would not go back in that area. Smart dog!

Do you know what type of snake got her? I may have missed it so sorry if I did.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

Snake bites cause severe swelling, pain, and tissue destruction. The dog needs pain medication, antibiotics, and time. Anti venom at this point would be an expensive useless treatment....

Lil girl didn’t make it. She dies in the wife’s arms about 10:15. She fought hard; reckon she took a large dose of the snakes venom. Thanks for all the input fellows.
