1500 feet is doable, by yourself with a 2 day rental on a Ditch Witch as long as you aren't real close to bedrock. I'd suggest a 2" line with o-ring slip joints. That uses NO glue. I know for certain that I'm sitting about 200 feet from a 2" run, that's at least 1500' long and it's been in the ground since 1987 and we did it ourselves. No leaks except for one when a backhoe hit it.

If you buy the pipe, fittings, valves, and rent the trencher…I’ll come down there and tell JB what to do for $6200

The road I live on the water main ends in front of my driveway. There are 2 houses down the road that have meters across from my driveway and they ran their water line from the end of the main down the side if the road to their house. That was years ago and I'm not sure if this standard practice now.

So out of curiosity does he need a 2” meter to utilize the 2” pipe ?

Nope. Just some bushings.

I have over 1400 feet of water line to get to the house. We went 1 1/2 except the last 200 feet. At my hose bib before the regulator I had 160 psi coming off it. No need to go 2”.

Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!

I had a 1” meter installed for right around 6k. The line had to be bored under the road and the water provider is Montgomery county. I’m running 2” up to about 900’ for now. End run should be around 1,500’. I was quoted $4-10$ per foot of pipe by some contractors. I’m running my own, so it won’t be near that much. The rolls of pex that large are called by a different name and are much more $ than PVC. I priced 2” PVC at 4$ a foot.

It be's that way sometimes.
