RARELY use a trailer. Go to buzzbait is my boogerman ( white or black) . I do take off skirts and add a ribbit frog sometimes.. I have used flukes as well in the same method as the frog!
Georgia Football..Acts like Bama but has a trophy case like South Carolina.

Head knocker with either a skinny dipper or z-craw (no skirt)
I had much rather be tried by twelve than carried to my grave by six!!!!

Hydrilla gorilla...if I used a trailer it would be the tail of a curly tail worm Hydrilla Gorilla was the best buzzbait ever made. All the head knocker types today are copies of that original design. We used to crush bass all over the delta and up the Bigbee and Bama on them. I have not seen one, or been able to find one for years. Skirt, trailer hook and a 3" piece of a ribbon tail (culprit worm) on the trailer hook. Won a lot of money throwing that bait. If you know where they can still be bought, please PM me.

Boogerman 3/8 with a curlytail trailer. Usually with no skirt.
Hydrilla Gorilla was super. I may still have some in a box.
I like the Ribbit-type buzzers. Big Bite makes a decent one I've caught a bunch on, and they usually are about $7 or so and not insanely expensive.
I know a guy in Georgia who throws big muskie buzzbaits at Lanier and a few other lakes. I can't remember what he did to them to make the blades work better but it was more than the "hold it out the window while driving" deal. He throws them in the back of coves and works them about as slow as possible to get the blades turning, like a giant shad waking along. Makes a huge wake. Not noisy. He said the strikes are violent. Not a numbers technique.

Lunker lure is my favorite, usually no trailer. Same here. Caught more on a plain old original Lunker Lure than anything else I tried.

Only trailer is a trailer hook for short strikes … 50% or more we catch are on the trailer hook

Lunker lure is my favorite, usually no trailer. Mine too. Gotta bend it often to keep it sounding right.

I like a boogey man..ive used a buncha different ones an they lay up an plane well..i rarely ever used trailers late in the day..but a bigger bass liked to bite a bigger profile early in the morning..im a fan of a pure chartreuse an a saphire blue pork skin or a crawfish..im bad about trimmin brush hogs down an makin a trailer out of them..i like to switch from the buzz to a waitless baby brush hog when the sun starts to heat up some..if i got a weed line or boat houses in 3-6ft of water..i will destroy them with that..an theyll have shoulders onem for the most part

Spent some good money on different ones, never liked most. I have a cardboard box of old fishing lures & I dug out a couple of the lunker lures. The bass like the ones that squeak. I sharpened the hooks & replaced the skirts with a rage bug or paddle tail.

Don't know that I have used a buzzbait since I bought a whopprplopper.
