We tamed snakes with 12ga birdshot

Y'all were right. Slick has absolutely no intention of being domesticated. In fact he was rather hostile about it. He was sunning on the deck and I went out the front and eased up on him. The house was behind him, I was in front, and he must not have liked me being in the way. I didn't get bit but it wasn't because he didn't try. Seems that Slick is a dick and he is a fast sob on top of that.
