Huey's

There's a place near Huey's and it may even be Huey's ( can't remember) that has the finest breakfast you'll find. I know it has a second floor balcony overlooking the river.

Dang - almost forgot - shellfish allergy in the group - but can handle being in the building where it’s cooked no problem.

Seafood place not completely off the table.

I lived there for 6 years. Stay away from the tourist traps and go to Crystal Beer Parlor and Cotton Exchange.

Pink House was a big let down.

Another vote for Huey's. Get the beignets with the caramel pecan sauce after you've had one of their omelettes.

The Cotton Exchange was good also for Supper.

Blue BBQ on state street

My BIL owns Blue Orb Tours down there. One of the most popular ghost tour business down there. Uses factual information and not bull. (Not related to the bbq at all. Nevermind the name)

Wife and I will be there later this am! Staying in tybee island till Thursday! I got reservations to cotton and rye on Wednesday night then we are doing a ghost tour including drinks later that night. I used this to help guide the food etc…Pretty excited cause I’ve never been there either!

https://www.reddit.com/r/savannah/comments/s0306p/welcome_to_savannah_visiting_moving_here_have/

I used that and used Yelp to look at reviews etc…may try the cotton exchange this evening though

Y'all have fun , if you like history you'll love Savannah . Some good food , we didn't have any bad ,some just better than others. Get a Trolly ticket for the day , ride the whole loop , then ride again and jump on and off at points of interest . Saves a lot of walking. The Trolly drivers give a good history lesson . BTW , the scenes in Forrest Gump where he's on the park bench telling his life story to different folks were filmed at a park there.

I'll be interested in your review if Tybee Island .

Yes indeed.

The Beignets and caramel sauce is outstanding. Just don't wear black pants or a black shirt.

We had a good time at Vick's too. Great food and great service. Plus you get to see the hand drawn map on the wall drawn by General Sherman's officers after they finished the march through Georgia. It's not all that accurate, but it's interesting to see.

If you want pizza one night Vinnie Van Go Go's is pretty hard to beat.

If you like baseball, try to catch a Savannah Banana's game. If you can find tickets.
