Why do the powers (that were elected) always want to raise taxes,... 🤔
The more people working as the population grows should be plenty.
It's stupid to me.

Inflation is a great way to raise taxes without formalities

Your house is worth an extra $150,000, cool more property taxes go up.
A new truck is $55,000+, cool more tag tax.
Groceries cost you more, cool more sales tax.
Switch jobs to get a pay raise, cool more taxes.

I'm surprised AL has NO tax on govt employee retirements. Most states have a % of it. But then we don't have a lottery either, so.................

Where have you been? The population is on a decline and they’re worried they’re not going to be able to afford everything in a couple generations. They’ll keep raising taxes until it destroys the people.

Oh just wait. Chelsea wants to create their own school system. With a 12.5 mill tax increase. The problem is the Chelsea city limits don't have enough homes to get the $ they need, which means they will want to annex in unincorporated area's of Shelby County.

I bet that will only be the beginning. We will see them go for another tax increase for something else next.

I really don't get why every town seems to think it gets to get bigger. The whole reason people like Chelsea is because it isn't inverness. But they seem hell bent on making it that way.

Short sided politicians think that if a town “isn’t growing then your dying” which is a ridiculous fallacy, are towns supposed to grow exponentially until all is consumed and roads are stranglehold and schools are overcrowded. Too many developers in the ears of mayors and city councils.

Cities do well on sales taxes also. The towns and cities are were people go even from the county to spend $ , they get the lions share of sales taxes and the county is left with crumbs. That's one reason the incorporated towns will have great streets and the county roads will be full of pot holes. Very similar to the casino thinking by our leaders. We build the casino , the out of staters come spend $ and go back across the border . That's what happens to the town/city versus county.
