Any one else gonna bite the bullet and do them. As bad as its gonna be money wise, I just can't help myself. I usually do 7 acres of corn/beans and just bought the seed. Eagle has a new product with the beans and corn already mixed and it was cheaper than me buying the beans and corn seperately, so I will be trying something new this year. At least they have not gone up as much as the Glyphosphate. Thank goodness I have 15 bags of 17-17-17 and a couple of bags of high nitrogen fertilizer. in the barn left over from fall, so at least I have a jump on that.

We may plant summer fields and use WMS LabLab with corn or their summer pea blend. Both great products. I plan to cut several feet wide paths down the middle of fields that have a lot of clover in them. By doing this, we maintain the clover fields as well as add summer seed to them. Doing this way also allows us to plant more fields with the same amount of seed that it would take to plant lesser fields

I'm going to mow and fertilize and spray. Probably buy a bag of lab lab and put it out on some of the fields just to add to the clover and chicory.

I just got my soybeans, would you row the beans or broadcast. I also have 2 bags of round up ready corn too. I rowed the corn out last year is the spots I'm planning on doing the soybeans

I planted 13 acres this weekend. Small field of brown top for doves and couple acre field of sunflowers for my wife. Then a few acres of a mix(sun hemp, sunflowers, IC peas, and a piece of a bag of corn from last year). Then I drilled about 4acres of chufas. I plan to spray gly before they sprout, got a few acres hit yesterday

If I could row plant I would but I have had good success just discing/tilling, broadcasting and dragging. I am waiting for a timber cut and will have a two row no till planter when it happens. Had really hoped they would get it done before planting time but no luck this year.

Going back old school here in an effort to iron out a process that is cost effective. I just decided I wasn't going to even try to afford Roundup and expensive seed in the future. For 2022 - I going to cultivate conventional forage beans on 30" rows for the plots this year. I was planting beans anyway... so I have made a couple test plots. I am planting Stonewall beans. If my plan works I'll be just under $75/ace all in I believe. For all intensive purposes that's also known as just the seed cost only for RR seed. BTW - No weed is resistant to steel. And you aren't producing a crop so give up on that in terms of pouring chemicals on the field. We will see what it does.

No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.

Didn’t the patent on RR beans end? Not sure how that affected prices.

I can't get a RR bean for $75.

I am not planting any beans this year. Just gonna fertilize and spray and mow clover. Funny thing my Tactacam sent me a check in pic last night that had 2 deer in the pic, but they were probably out of detection range.

It’s not just the RR the important thing is it’s a forage bean. The problem with ag beans is one nip while young and they are done.Laredo is non RR forage bean that did well for me.

This is what I found. However, if I planted the regular soybean with buckwheat and or clay peas, that seemed to allow the soybeans to grow.

I really want to plant some, but I got some pics off a new plot of WTI clover/fusion last night, and had 7 deer in it. There is no forage bean I can plant on a field this size that can stand up to 7 deer using it. There were deer feeding in this field for hours last night.

It's close to a property line so it's possible I'm pulling deer over, but I consistently see 4 deer in it.
