I hunt between faunsdale and uniontown and we have the blackest soil you have ever seen. The numbers of deer arent there, but it more than makes up for it in quality. In my opinion one of the 3 best areas in Alabama to have a good chance at killing a 140+ buck on a somewhat regular basis. The other 2 areas are Jackson Co. (I am biased, but based on what has been killed there the past 10 years I don't think many would argue) and last is an area in Bullock Co., which looks almost identical to the land in and around Faunsdale and Union Town. One thing all three have in common are relatively low deer numbers for Alabama and a good buck to doe ratio.
