One of the Russian opposition leaders who was a former Russian minister thinks that Putin's days are numbered, and doesn't believe he can stay in power.
Interesting story about this Special Forces unit made up of tech guys, who build and maintain weaponized drones and use them to assault Russian armored columns. They ride around on 4 wheelers with night vision goggles, sneak up on the Russians and let loose on them. Supposedly these were the guys that stopped the 40 mile long Russian convoy. They first destroyed several vehicles in the front to stop the column, then they began systematically attacking vehicles in the column. When the Russians broke up the column into smaller columns, then the team attacked the fuel and supply vehicles.
Watching the clips on youtube, i don't care which side you're backing, if you don't see the war crimes..you're blind. It's one thing to see residential areas shelled and destroyed (war is hell), but all the civilians dead in the streets...some bound and executed. Many women and children, not military aged guys...those are 100% war crimes committed by the russians. Is the media spinning it, damn straight they are. Looking for every click and rating bump.
The harder I practice, the luckier I get.

AP and Reuters typically are the source for the networks news along with many others. The end user will take the original story and edit to fit their narrative. FOX does this too.
This is how they claim to be factual by linking the original story. They just omit what they don’t like to create the narrative desired.
AP and Reuters may bias the news too but it’s usually closer to the facts but not always.
Several reporters and war hardened photogs have been killed, executed really. I wondered if they were around when these civilians were being tortured and killed. Some photogs actually transmit images on the fly. They’ve been doing that since the gulf war. Basically transmits as images are captured. Pic is taken and is sent wireless to a hard drive that is hot linked via satellite or internet depending. Used to be very expensive and only the top guys had it. It’s pretty cheap by today's standards as some wedding shooters use a similar setup and have a presentation of the day on display at the reception.

The only thing that I know 100% is true is that Russia lies. This is not to say that other governments don't all lie, because they do. However Russia is on a totally different plane of lying. To paraphrase Mrs. Irish "Russia would lie if the truth was a better story." The only time the Russians don't lie is when a partial truth or half truth fits their narrative. For instance... The whole Ukrainian Nazi thing. Are there Nazi's in the Ukrainian government and armed forces? Sure there are. But I don't believe there are any more than there are Fascists in certain other governments and militaries.
Just like now, the Russians are saying that this whole time the "real" strategy was to confuse the Ukrainians, by faking an attack on Kiev when all they really wanted was to secure the Eastern areas of Ukraine. Well... That's total bullcrap, they wanted Kiev like a baby wants milk, but they got their asses kicked and are being forced to pull out. Then there's the lie that they didn't execute civilians. They even went so far as to say that they delivered over 400 tons of "humanitarian aid" to those places. If they had that much supply capability, then why were their own troops looting stores and civilians to get some food to eat? When someone goes further than simply denying something and makes up and even greater lie, then you know they are lying. For instance, you ask one of your kids, "Did you eat all the ice cream?" and they answer, "I haven't touched the ice cream." You know they are lying, because instead of just saying "no." they add the "I didn't touch it." part.
The only way to understand Russia is to simply understand that every word that comes out of their mouth is a lie and act accordingly.
Now... how much of what is coming out of the Ukrainians is a lie, I don't know. They were ingrained in that Soviet institution of systematic lying, but I think that their back is against the wall so bad that they have to be telling the truth more often than not. The reason being, if they are caught fabricating stuff then the support from the rest of the world would quickly dry up, and without international support, they are dead.
It reminds me of a stanza from the Doc Watson version of "The House of the Rising Sun" that goes like this...
Never believe what a bad woman tells you Though her eyes be blue or brown Unless she's standing on that old scaffold high Sayin' boys they won't let me come down...
Well boys, Ukraine is standing on that old scaffold high right now facing the executioner, fighting for their right to exist, so based on my experience, they don't have a whole lot of choice but to tell the truth, at least about most of the important stuff.

correct, carter. reuters and AP can get all woke on the climate and such, but both still have stud war reporters/photographers. photogs typically are local stringers. BUT, david turnley, a very well known independent photographer, has been on the ground there, too, and posting pics. the guardian will have stringers on the ground, as well as le monde and other large newspapers ...

Finally watching some of the tax dollars I’ve payed for the last 45 years put to good use. More US missiles, please. Ivan hasn’t learned enough about the post Cold War technology gap between the US and Russia.
