The name "black Belt" does refer to the soil type! Its a dark rich clay thats aweful to disk and usually you will see lots of cedars! Mississippi has some of the same soil type but not as much! The land along the mississippi river that produces all of the giant deer from the state is not the same soil! Why cedars??? Would the area sw of Tuscaloosa on 20/59 have similar soil characteristics? There sva crap load of cedars in that area.
