I've got a carlson's heavyweight tss .555 ordered. Supposedly will be delivered tomorrow. I'm gonna shoot it in a 870 20 gauge, I'll let you know how it goes. If I forget, send me a pm.

If he is gonna shoot TSS, I wouldn’t recommend a .555 IC. Matter of fact, I wouldn’t recommend an IC at all based on a group of us all trying a .555, .562, and .570 IC in our little 870’s. You can get way better performance for way less $. YMMV

Blasphemy! That’s what I shoot out of my 870 and it’ll fold em up like a bed sheet. But then again, we all know I’m not right anyway so 🤷🏻‍♂️

Hes got a browning bps12ga with a kicks gobblin thunder..that is the ruffest pattern ive ever seen..it will sling magnum blends at 50yds that are smaller than a volley ball..we aint ever even tried a tss load..it liable to be the best patterning shotgun on earth..ive never seen a gun replicate what that gun does..we got that thing for like $300 at village in butler..its awful

I guess every gun is different my friend! The Remington Super Full has been the best in my 18.5” barrel 870. Some cheapo Tru-glo .565 has been the best in my son’s 21” barrel 870. We shot all three of those Indian Creek constrictions I mentioned in 3 different short barrel 870’s back then and none of us went forward with an Indian Creek for hunting based on the pattern performances. Which we found odd because all of us has been hardcore Indian Creek guys up until then with the swap to TSS. Of the three constrictions we tried in the Indian Creeks, .570 was our favorite. .555 would sometimes give a way too tight core and then sometimes it would totally blow the pattern. We were not impressed at all. That was with Hal’s 1 5/8 3” load (big 20 XL) and straight 9’s. I have never looked back since. Aint changed a thing in several years now.

Only problem I’ve had was the severe poi change with Indian creeks. Some shoot high, some low. Non shoot poa in any of my guns.

My experience with the .555 IC’s as well. Caused some missed turkeys before I got wise and changed.

Ill be honest..my pattern could be better in my oppinion..its good but ive seen some other peoples that just amazes me..but heck..i hunted with #6 federal premium lead 3.5in magnums in a 835 for a long time..i remember the first time i ever seen a nitro blend an thought that was the future..shot hevi shot straight 7 an magnum blends forever..i never thought a 20ga would ever be a viable option..then along came tss an i aint toted a 12ga in 5-6 years. I cant complain much cause as mediocre as my pattern may seem..it still better than anything i ever got out a 3.5in magnum..with 1/2 the recoil..an some of these dang 3in loads will whoop you..but they still aint 3.5in 835 mossy bad
