Obama changed personal assets as being restrictive towards government handouts. Really increased participation amongst the lazy. Last I looked a female could bank around 40k in benefits by having kids. If those kids had issues more money is allocated. Of course Bush increased child tax credits so there’s that once a year infusion of a lot of money. A bunch of iPhones are bought late spring for a reason.

It really is astounding just how much one can make by being on the governments dole.

Sheffield has a location that hands out a lot of food to I guess anyone. I see caddies and lexis etc sitting in line. Tractor trailer full of cases of food being distributed. They were there tonight. 2 lines wrap around the old military facility. I’ve thought about sitting there and see what I can get. But they seem to line up early and stay awhile.

Lots of free stuff if you know where to look. Still trying to figure out how a known drug dealer can pay rent, drive a caddie and have a lot of kids and never work a day in his life. Literally dresses like a high rolling rapper. Known to not have a DL yet he drives everywhere.

I’m glad someone has it figured out when my alarm goes off at 5 am every morning.

That’s the type work ethic this country was founded on!! Somewhere along the way it became lost.

On and around Sand Mt. most of the chicken plant workers are brown with some Haitians sprinkled in to break up the color monotony. Not many American blacks and whites. My job carries me into a few of the plants occasionally and it's mostly the same demographics from Koch Chattanooga to Alatrade Phoenix City. They started coming in the 1990's and the Haitians shortly after the big earthquake in Port O Prince. In the 1980 almost all of those jobs belonged to Whites and Blacks.

Shortly after High school (early 80's) I did a short stent in one. The work itself wasn't that hard but they treated you pretty crappy in my humble opinion. It is the only job I've ever flat out quit without already having another job lined up. They would walk up behind you with a stopwatch timing you, and say something like, "That's acceptable, but I think you could do it a little faster". I believe those were the last words I heard (or something very similar to that) before I went OFF. 2 minutes later I was peeling out of the parking lot in my 68 mustang. Never looked back or went to pick up my last check. That, the pay and American laziness are all to blame for Americans not holding those jobs today.

I would pay above market for you and her, because I want to encourage young people that there is money to be made working and/or owning those businesses. But you know white, or black, second generation (or more) American workers in those industries are the exception now. They’re very hard to find.

Some how or another I managed to own a contracting company during the nineties and the majority of the two thousands and only employed white and black folks. Mostly black. The people that worked for me or either in business for themselves, retired and turned it over to family or dead. I can’t imagine trying to work people today in the private sector.

I think too many people assume illegals are working for less than minimum wage. That ain’t true.

I’d say the average is making double the minimum wage, the majority are making 15-20 an hour. The only difference is work ethic. They’ll do the job without bitching and moaning. If they don’t like the conditions or the agreement, they’ll move somewhere else and won’t give the opportunity to negotiate.

They’ve got their own little labor union by word of mouth. Nothing in writing. You guys who think they’re stealing your jobs are running a fools errand.

The 3 or 4 white guys hired on in the last few years all bailed in less than a month. Our farm was 50/50 split when I was there but now they are 3 white and 5 mexican.

What really should get you fired up is these Mexicans, Haitians, and Guacamoles are getting full benefits from our governments good assistance, full Covid money no taxes being paid on most accounts… etc the list goes on
And then you asked the question, who raised this lazy non working American generation?

This, I’ve noticed at Tyson in Blountsville you see more whites and blacks working there than in several years. The Mexicans overvalued themselves. But that hasn’t stopped Tyson from recruiting them. So a tv ad not long ago where they Mexican women in it talking about the jobs available there. I don’t know if they still do it but at one time the 3rd shift cleanup crew was using a second tier contractor that employed illegals. And this was told to me by a Mexican friend that works there that is legal. I use to remember him being so mad because they were working illegal Guatamalans

Do you remember when they came through and hit all the chicken plants? They also hit the Mexican restaurant in Oneonta and took everyone but the owner. I will say that was the positive thing done during the Clinton administration

Before i left Decatur, AL aprox. 20 years ago, Wayne's Farms had a BIG expansion. The Mexicans flocked to Decatur. Several families will occupy a house, and be loud and nasty, The neighbors house would come up for sale and the Mexicans would buy it.
The cycle continued until they would own every house on that street. Then here comes the Mexican grocery stores and Food places causing more and more to move into the area....
