How did it happen? Did all the white and black Americans that once had these jobs decided they didn’t want to work there anymore? So communities like Russellville and others in Alabama are forever changed.

Yeah pretty much. We’re too good for that job, like landscaping. And cleaning.

Most people that were good at landscaping, cleaning or any other thing like that started their own companys. The Mexicans aren’t as cheap as they used to be.

Probably could ask the the owners of the Georgia carpet mills the same questions. Welfare and food stamps.

It's laziness! The white, hard workers want something better than a chicken plant job. The sorry ones are too lazy to work. My wife was one a supervisor at Pilgrims Pride. She must white people they hired wouldn't show up for day 2. She even had some quit at first break.

When she worked there, it started at over 40,000 a year and full benefits. It's higher now. And sign on bonuses. Most the workers around here are Haitians.

It’s a combination of government handouts and folks being lazy. People used to be too proud to take government handouts and would bust their butts to do better for themselves and families. Somewhere along the line that behavior stopped. In my opinion that behavior is “learned” so the better question would be:

Who quit teaching these desired behaviors?

But general laziness has most definitely ramped up. Just about every business I know is short handed and it’s not all low wage jobs either. It’s across all spectrums. However it’s also a learned behavior. I’m 43 and my parents rarely let me be lazy. Lots of days we couldn’t come inside till the streetlights were on lol and we loved it.

The messicans will work and most are on contract crews. Most of the whites and blacks want work! See it every day in the Hatcheries.

When goldkist started in Russellville, they had billboards in Mexico that said good paying jobs Russellville Alabama.
They are not paying $40000 a year starting out.

People still brag about getting that government cheese during the Carter administration.

We've started using Mexicans on 6-month work Visas at my job. They only do basic cleanup duties. I can't recall one ever calling in sick in the year that we've had them. They pickup and sweep EVERYTHING even if they didnt put it there. They never complain and take authority extremely well. Americans had better wake up!

Eat more chicken

I would love to have a hard working family live on my farm and work. Most times, Hispanics are the only option. Some good and some bad. Overall, I like them.
