There’s at least 3-4x more deer in the places I hunt in Winston, Marion and Franklin than there was in the 90s.

We killed 12 doe off one 600 acre tract this season and would still see 16 in a sit at the end of the season. One am hunted I saw 27 deer and all unantlered except for a spike. There was 2-doe a day limit for several years in this area and it clearly didn’t hurt the doe population.

In the 90s if you saw more than 1 doe in this area it was a miracle.

My point is, not all areas of AL have less deer now than the 80s or 90s. Some areas have WAY more.

The population seems relatively unchanged since the 90s in a spot I hunt in Pickens.
