2 rubber bands and 2 hot hands will keep your feet warm on the seriously cold days. Just slap a rubber and and hand warmers on toe of boot once you get where you are going. Looks funny but works surprisingly well and is a cheap fix. I do the same except i use a pair of hunting socks cut off at the ankle. Slip the sock over the front part of my boot, put the hand warmers on top and bottom and magic happens.
Ain't nothing a sharp knife can't fix
