Thanks!......We'll see how it does on the yotes. In the past I've had good luck catching coyotes by just resetting traps in the catch circle after I caught the first one on a dirt hole......This was sort of a play on that idea. The yotes have been making a regular run through here lately so my plan is to just keep resetting this set and letting all the smell from the last catch create curiosity for the next one......With three traps set around it if something messes with it at all they stand a good chance of getting caught.

CNC, did you trip the other two traps, or did the cat? The cat did.....I kinda had in mind that they might get two feet caught or maybe even get lucky and get a double......

Uh, you may want to check the regs on suspending or hanging bait within 25' of traps.
"Cull" is just another four letter word...

Nothing was "suspended"........by definition that would mean something is hanging in the air correct? A chunk of liver lashed to the side of a t-post with twine is neither "hanging" nor "suspended"....Is it? ...I'm seriously asking here and not trying to be smug. Is it about the bait being "above" the traps?.....because that's a slippery slope if we go by definition.....I could have a dirt hole in a bank that was above my traps. What if it tied to the base of the post? Would that make a difference?
What is the intent or purpose for this rule out of curiosity?

Just guessing but I’d say anything elevated above the ground would be considered suspended

Just guessing but I’d say anything elevated above the ground would be considered suspended This is thing and again I’m not trying to be a jackass……..but if something like this went to court and the rule says “suspend” then Webster’s dictionary defines suspend as “to hang” or “to keep from falling or sinking by some invisible force” such as buoyancy or a solution in a suspension…..There is nothing about it being “elevated”……Elevate means to raise or lift something to a higher position……Does this mean that your bait always has to be in a lower position than your traps?? If I bury my traps and then sprinkle bait on top of the ground is the bait not in an “elevated” position in relation to the traps?
