I really like the people who get on here and beat their chest about how much they love dogs and they keep them outside in a kennel.

Itā€™s usually the guy who says ā€œI like my dogs more than any humanā€. You can bet your bottom dollar you go to his house and thereā€™s either a dog tied to a tree or one in a pen crafted from pallets and old chain link fence. Never washes them, covered in fleas, yā€™all know the deal.

I was thinking the same thing.

People seem to like throwing out their unwanted pets here. I guess they think I'll give them a good home .

There are 2 pit bulls that are roaming around where I live. They are supposedly friendly to people but very dog aggressive. They have killed 2 dogs. The owners are saying they are sweet and itā€™s not their fault. The people in the neighborhood are declaring war saying that we should hunt them down and kill them. Iā€™m over here laughing. If they approach me or mine then I will love and adore them. Outside of that Iā€™m not going hunting for a dog. I see somebody spending the night in jail before this is over.

The owner should be in jail. You canā€™t have free roaming dogs patrolling the neighborhood killing other pets.

There are only 2 ways to stop a dog from roaming a neighbor.

Kill the dog is the best option. You will not be in any trouble with the law if you kill it.

The other option is to inform the dog owners you are armed and if their dog gets within 10 feet of you , make them understand you will kill their dog, and there is nothing else to discuss.

I dealt with this crap from neighbors for over 5 years and we donā€™t have this problem anymore. Get a group together and confront the owners. All show up wearing a pistol and start walking by their house with it and an axe handle with sharp lag bolts drilled through it. Iā€™ve found they will quickly Keep the dogs inside and wonā€™t even walk them on a leash much afterwards once they know you are committed and they understand that you will kill their dog. They may even move or get rid of their dog, so itā€™s a win win to address the problem directly.

So you're saying we should kill half as many pit bulls as we do cows?

I think that'd solve the problem.

Thinking of getting my kid a pet for Christmas. Got it narrowed down to a few choices.
Which of these would be safer?

1- Pitbull
2- Saltwater Crocodile (baby)
3- Nest of hornets
4- Sack full of cottonmouths

Iā€™m thinking the Salty would be the easiest and safest.

My dad had to shoot and kill a pit a few years ago to protect THE DOGS owner. The guy was pulled over on the side of the road and flagged dad down. He asked if dad had a gun and dad was really uncertain about why he was asking. The guy was taking his own pit to the vet to have put down because it attacked his wife on the couch the night before totally unprovoked. Until that incident the dog had been a very loving pet. On the way to the vet it tried mauling the guy in his truck. He managed to get out and lock it inside until dad arrived. Yā€™all can figure out the rest.

From my perspective I feel the best thing to do is just stay quiet. Don't even make a complaint to the owner, a friend, aldeer or anyone. When everything is quiet, and the coast is clear handle your business. Problem solved!

Opinions are like assholes and everyone has one and they usually stink. Be careful painting with broad brushes.

A pit in public is just like waving an AK around I think Menacing is the legal term. Pits are dogs dogs bite. Nobody likes being bitten. SSS.

Well, you at least can say your love affair with pits is multi-generational. If we search your house I imagine finding a false wall with a hidden room filled with pictures of pitbulls having blood and red X's marked across their cute little faces.
