All my Bucks have gone. I have about 126 Acres that my family owns in Henry county, we have been managing for about 7 or 8 years now. we have planted, put out minerals, kept feed out year around. We dont shoot anything unless it is 4+ years of age. We have killed 2 Bucks in the Last 3 Years, one scored 140, the other in the 130s. was getting plenty of pics year around for several seasons up until Last November. One of our feeders Got destroyed in A storm so we bought another feeder and put it in same spot. Since that day we have had 1 pic of a mature buck, been almost a year and nothing, evry other year we would get multiple pics in Summer of bucks over the mineral sight. This year Nothing. I am beyond frustrated. These deer are not pressured and have a lot of land to rome that is not hunted. I thought they would show back up after the rut last year but nothing. What do some of yall think could have happened, Do you think they may show back up during the rut or what? Thanks for your input, im ready to just stop hunting for the year it is so frustrating.

Isn’t it way too early to be giving up that far south? I mean huge acorn crop they ain’t gotta move far til the chase is on

The more I do for them the less they come around it seems. I hate the damn things.

Food changes , range changes , pressure changes , rut happens and a host of other factors all making it impossible to hold bucks on 126 acres .

My big field I ain’t hunted in 3 weeks - the weather been sucking r the wind wrong - think I can kill one if we get that 30 degree day and right wind - don’t see any real cold weather next 2 weeks - May just save that field and the little field till weather perfect
And hunt my few other stands r bow spot

What’s changed on the properties around you ? Recent clear cuts, thinning or burning?

They probably went to the other side of the interstate and can't get back...

I put out a feeder this year in a spot I put out corn on the ground last year. Almost zero deer traffic. I have a big buck that's hit it twice in maybe 9 weeks. Only change is we lost 100 acre's off the front side of our property. Seems like every year the places I see them change.

I bet someone near you is thinking..... this was the best place I ever hunted I don't know what happened to all those bucks. We were shooting a couple good ones every year until.......

With your property being only 126 acres, you're not holding any bucks exclusively on a tract that small. More than likely, you or someone else has pressured them off your place, or they currently have a preferred food source, field, acorn trees, better bait or whatever, that is off your property and on your neighbors and they are living over there at this time. It happens.

I said the same thing yesterday. I spend countless amounts of time and who knows how much money on fields and feed thru out the year and my neighbor who doesn’t even hunt kills a 140ish inch 9 point in his backyard. Then I help him track it to find it after I got done spreading 800 lbs of area before that storm came thru.

That's my thoughts....I can get every nites pics weeks on end then nothing...I know they there they just change overnight

yeah our deer dont like them feeders at all o n our place. I was told "they will get use to it". After 2 months only 2-3 deer pics total.. So i took it out and went back to scattering on the ground

I have around 400 acres with 16 cuddelink cameras on feeders and fields. I get 90% of my buck pictures on 2 cameras. The bucks are there but your just not seeing them. I have one moultrie camera that I move around in remote areas searching for bucks. I put it on the north side of my property in October and found 5-6 bucks with 2 shooters. None of these bucks are on any of my other cameras. I put a climber in there and sent my cousin in one afternoon and he killed a big junked up 10pt. I pulled the camera and stand and haven't been back. I moved the moultrie camera to the east side of my property and found 2 young 8pts that are not on any other camera. Last weekend I moved the camera 200 yards south and I only have pictures of does and turkey. I will move the camera again this weekend to to the west side of the property still searching for bucks that we don't see on other cameras. Don't worry the bucks are there.

I had about 9-10 mature bucks on camera a month ago and I now have one. They’re just doing deer things.

December lull coupled with this weather equals they don’t have to move much. TONS of browse still
