Aren't scents illegal if they're from real deer, and not synthetic?

Urine and tarsal glands off of a real deer have worked for me several times over the years......When I was a teenager I killed a spike and saved the pee out of him......took it to another property a couple days later where I opened it and dropped it out of my stand right after daylight......It took less than 10 minutes and I had another spike coming into it with its nose bouncing looking for the other deer.....I shot him too.
