Headed up to LBL to hunt all next week. Never hunted there and do not know what to expect. I have read all the forums and info I could find. Just want to hear from the ones that have experience hunting there. I’m not looking for a 200” deer just going to spend some time with family and experience a new hunting area. Thanks

I was up there 8-10 and be back December 10-12. They probably on lock down right now if I had to guess. They was chasing when I was there 8-10 of this month.

We hunted all week and had a lot of rut action my best friend killed 15 point and we all had chances to take bucks. We also seen a lot of other good bucks that people had killed.

Congrats sounds like y’all had a great trip. Great buck. We saw a lot of does and had a buck fight just out of my line of sight. Just didn’t get have to much luck with bucks. Hope it changes in next trip in few weeks. Anybody else going back up around December 10-12.

Also you might think I’m crazy for saying this but those deer pile into the fields at 430 pm and the majority of deer seem like they are near the road. My friend seen that buck during the morning 200 yards off road then was 50 yards off back of field 300 yards off road in the afternoon and shot him at 4 coming up draw with doe

Yeah they act like real deer not like the skittish ones here in North Alabama

First day of hunting. Covered a lot of ground scouting. Extremely windy today. High 62 degrees. Stopped by the law enforcement office to ask a few questions. Everyone was very nice and helpful. Rain and cold temperatures coming tomorrow

Good luck. my buddy lives about an hour away and he said bucks just got off lockdown he thinks he had bucks chasing in front of him this morning.

Second day of hunting. Just hunted this morning. Got into some good sign. Lots of big rubs and some scraps that are a few days old. Probably go back there in the morning. Time for some Thanksgiving cooking.

Sweet knock down a big one

RK1 made by Striker Bows. riser use to be made my New Breed. Before they went out of business Striker took that part over. So all the new RK1 are made completely at Striker. I have been shooting recurves for about 10 years now. This year I decided to swap to a long bow. 45# limbs 60” overall length. Have always shot three blade Wensel Woodsman. Decided to switch to grizzly single bevels and give those a try.

Ok, yeh i got to thinkin it was an rk1 after i studied it a little bit.. ive heard them are fine shootin bows..good lookin set up you got..im shooting some off brand german kinetics..ive shot simmons an they are my favorite..ive struggled to sharpen them so i went to some easier to sharpen heads..i also aint got the right stuff to sharpen them simmons heads either..ive got some woodsmans an steelforce too.

Third day of hunting. Got a full day in. 23 degrees this morning with 1-5 mph wind. I would rather it blow 20 mph then have no wind at all. Saw deer on and off all day. Few small bucks and one good eight point. Bucks were by themselves. They seemed to have a agenda when they came through. Going back in the same tree in the morning.

Well today was the last day to hunt. Seen a lot of deer today. One really good 8. Just chose different trail than I was on. If I had a few more days I believe I could get it done. This is a amazing place. Little overwhelming but manageable. Will definitely be back.
