I've been in this house for about 25 years, bought it from the original owners. One thing I love about it is the quality of the way things were built back then. The 8x2" floor joist measure exactly 8 x 2. Not the 7.5 x 1.5 you would get today. I try to repair or rebuild all the old fixtures if I can because I know if replace it with something from the big box store, I'll likely have to replace it again in 6 months. Any way, the issue at hand is the shower diverter (pull up type) on Crane Drexel 2 handle fixtures. When I started looking for parts I didn't realize crane hasn't made faucets for over 40 years and this model is from the late 1940s. The diverter still works about 60% (other 40% goes to tub spout) but I'd like to get it back to 100% if that is possible. I've looked everywhere trying to find parts but with no luck. I'm wondering if there another diverter out there that may work or best case some if there are some similar washers that I could update and get close to what I'm trying to do. I called the crane support line and they said I'd likely need a new spout and would likely have to replace the copper pipe stub out. I thought there were just screw in or slide on type spouts but maybe that is just for newer fixtures. With the age of this hardware it wouldn't surprise me. Not sure what that would involve since I don't know how it's set up. Would like to know what I could be facing if that is the case. Any insight or if you know of anyone that would be willing to talk to be about please pass that info on . I appreciate it.

Yep. Faucet stems not problem, diverter is a different story though. I called them and they said internal parts for that faucets were pressed in making access for a repair difficult or impossible. They said for me to take pictures and send it their tech guy to see if he has any ideas. I too am kind of thinking it's going to be a replacement. Oh well. Thanks for the help.

I'm on my phone none of those look like a diverter ??? Have to call them and ask. Another option: https://www.fergusonrepairparts.com/category/cr-rare_stems/filter:/ they show diverter stems for old cranes.

Uhmmmm , maybe some thing I ain't seen .
Just screw that one off screw a new one on. It may not be just that easy though
Is it just a plane ole chrome spout Back then Crane called for a different stub than what you see in new construction now. Look up Crane Drexel shower fixtures. They are different. I did find a spout made exactly for this application. That one was $175. It's nuts. I'm not sure I could put an adapter on that that and then go with a current style. i need to look at it again tonight.
