God said, "You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain." I'm conservative when it comes to interpretation of the Scriptures. Varying from the words used there can get us into trouble. "Most people" are often wrong. Reverence for God should be taken seriously. Most people are irreverent. I think you missed my point. I am 100% against the use of the Lord's name in vain. I'm simply stating that, while "G-D" is one way of using his name in vain, there are others too that extend beyond our words. Reverence for God is absolutely a missing characteristic in the majority of society these days.
