I was never a huge LS fan...I mean I like them, but not in my Top 10 or anything. But.....I will give them credit for the best Rock & Roll lyric of all time...
"Whisky bottles and brand new cars....oak tree you're in my way"
absolutely brilliant

Hmm. Not sure if they truly qualify as "rock"?

LS was the real deal. The Beatles were a teen girl band...at best. In the first couple of years, yes.........after that, not even close. Just take a look at how many other bands, even hard/heavy rock bands, tell you that the Beatles were one of, if not their single greatest influence. If one wants to say they don't care for The Beatles, that's fine...........but let's not pretend for a moment that they're not the single most influential band in the history of modern music, because it's not even debatable.

I'm going to get raked over the coals for this one, but the most influential band in my time 1977-today that has changed music the most.....Nirvana! They definitely changed music in a HUGE way........they basically single-handedly ended the abortion that was "hair band" music. Also, guess who Kurt Cobain said on multiple occasions was one of his biggest influences, and who Dave Grohl will tell you is "his single favorite band and biggest influence"? The Beatles

Buddy has a pair of tickets framed. His sister had bought them for concert. Crashed before the event.

LS had a couple of really good albums, and then 2 or 3 albums that had 1 or 2 hits each and the rest was "filler". Like I saw once in a discussion about them "they were a good "greatest hits" band, but not a ton outside of their greatest hits". Even prior to the plane crash, they just couldn't really keep putting out the same quality of the first couple of albums.
