As old as that buck is, you’ll have to soak the meat in ice water for about six months before it’s fit to eat. lol

Not 5 1/2 or 6 1/2. Likely 7 1/2 or 8 1/2. Have had the privilege of watching, (and killing), a couple deer grow up on our place and knowing their ages up to 8 1/2. Gun to my head answer, 8 1/2. 2019 pic with jaw-flap tells me he's at least 6 1/2 at that time. Count it up and you've got an extremely old deer. Advice from this past year, if you kill him. Grind every bit of him into hamburger! Even the tenderloins are rough on an 8 1/2 year-old buck. Good luck
