Sorry for your loss. Buried my yellow lab last year and it tore me up. My daughter took it real hard as well
Since she was her dog since her 6th birthday.
For the record, Allen Borden at Galleria Animal hospital would have let you be in the exam room for that procedure.

Jake passed tonight. Just like always he went out on his own terms. He had a good meal and laid down in his favorite spot. I got him up to take him out like I do every night before I go to bed and I knew. His breathing was not good and I got down on the floor with him and the look in his eyes told me everything he knew I needed to know--he looked up and his cloudy eyes said it's time to go Dad, I love you, but it's time for me to go and I'll see you when you get here." He closed his eyes and 5 mins later he was gone. He passed at 11:16pm.
I appreciate everyone for offering help concerning my original question.
I can't remember where I read this, but for those of use who have furry sons and daughters I'll leave you with this: "Hold them dear, for they own our hearts." I know it's been months but I just opened this thread. There's a lot of pollen and dust in the air....😢
