When do you normally plant for bow season? I used to plant around mid September bu5 started$ waiting till the first of October due to the lack of rain; with all of the rain we’ve having I am considering going back to my earlier date.

Elite Omnia, Easton FMJ, Axcel Landslyde 5 pin slider.

Back when I didn't have a large deer density on the property I was hunting (2 miles across the TN line) I planted early September. I planted my usual fall stuff but I would also get 4 or 5 bags of unsold soybean seed and plant it with the other stuff. Back then a co-op would sell it for $5 a bag. One good rain and it looked like indoor/outdoor carpet. Deer are drawn to sprouting soybeans like a magnet. They would hammer it for the first few weeks of the TN bow season but they would eat it to the ground and kill the beans. By then the fall stuff would be up and keep them coming to it in the evenings.
