Yeah, the therapy sucks, but you're going to want to push yourself pain or not because more pain now means less pain down the road. Jump out in front of it. If not you'll wish you had.

If you want to get as close to fully rehabbed (if not fully rehabbed), then you need to grit your teeth and try not to be nasty to those who are helping you (even if it seems at the time they are trying to kill you). I was brought to tears more than once, but 18 months since my shoulder surgery and I appreciate what they did for me. You can bet your arse that I considered not going back a time or two, but knowing if I quit that I would have less range of motion than before was pretty strong motivation, too.

Yes, they will check your range of motion in the side you had the surgery and maybe the other side for comparison. At some point during your course of physical therapy they will check those range of motion measurements again to see how much you have progressed. They may do it more than once after the initial measurements depending on the progress you are making in what amount of time.

Take all the pain you can during rehab. Don't shy away from it. That's where success ends or begins.

One word of caution with those pain pills. They’ll stop you up bad. It will feel like you’re chittin a brick. Try to stay ahead of this if possible.

That ain’t the only thing, which I’m sure you have a strong will Fur, don’t get dependent on them. Good luck

When I went to therapy yesterday, I asked the PT about the gel packs. He said they did work good and that I could make some myself from Karo syrup. I had 4 quarts of old granulated honey and I heated that until it was melted and put 2 quarts in a gallon ziplock bag to make 2 ice packs. I double bagged them to prevent a potential mess. They work awesome. Form fit.
