tried to order some of these Chippewa boots (see pic below) but was told by my local dealer they've been factory discontinued ... if anybody's got some lightly used boots like this they'd be willing to sell, pls shoot me a PM ... will consider other brands beyond Chippewa (Red Wing Roughneck's, Thorogood's, etc.)... prefer a lugged Vibram sole vs the whitish/tannish looking soles
TIA

I have a pair of 8.5D Redwing 877s.
They've had very little use. I normally wear an 8.5D street shoe and a 9D boot or sneaker, and these fit fine.
They're all leather with a vibram sole, although as you can see from the pictures in the link, they're not a lug sole - they're designed not to collect mud, but nevertheless have decent traction.
I particularly like the fact that all the lace points are round eyelets, with none of the metal hooks that can collect grass and debris.
I like them, but just don't wear them enough to keep them. I think I paid something close to the $300 MSRP, like maybe $285.
You can have them for $150 picked up in Bham or $175 shipped.
Can text you pics if you like.

I needed to replace some old hiking boots that used to be made in Italy then when I finally needed a replacement they had swapped to making them in China.
Outdoor store said check Ebay so I finally found a nearly new pair of the Italian made version on there.
I set up a notification so any time a pair was posted in my size/style I got an email.

ya slipperyrock - man inventory is sparse at retailers now, and as you say, production has shifted a lot more to Asian factories 🤦🏻‍♂️😫😐 i’m also on eBay taking a look around, as well ...
