ha, got bored....

one fine September a fella from Shelby Co sent word to me of a deer killing...at night...on posted land. I started looking into it. Took a couple three weeks gathering info on the subjects involved without letting them know I was looking. One night a fella called me and said one of the subjects was at his grandmothers house. 16 year old subject. I loaded up and went to Granny's. Granny was his custodian and all for him talking to me. Took a couple of hours to get all of the story, seems there were three juveniles and one 30 year old involved. The 30 year old was the shooter and also a serial violator well known to me.

Monday I got warrants from the court for night hunting, hunting w/o permission, taking deer out of season. Couple of days later the juvenile I talked to called me in a panic, seems the 30 year old had threatened his life if he talked/testified. LOL, help me out. Intimidation of a witness is a felony, add another warrant for him.

A week later we found him at a country store mid day. We waited for him to drive off and stopped his truck. I had him out of the truck and told him he was under arrest and that he was going to jail. He said he wasn't and was getting back in his truck, where his shotgun lay. Not happening....I again told him to turn around and I'd cuff him. He said he would fight both of us(wanna be bad guy)...I got TAZ up to us and told him he was getting ready to meet my dog(who he could see growling at him). He said he would kill my dog!!! Good luck I said as I drew my steel baton and explained bone breaking to him. He finally took the cuffs and off to jail he went.

Court found him guilty and $2000 in fines in spite of his lawyer....

I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

Wouldn't be politically correct now days I'm sure 😀

Fred, you seriously need to work on a book of your experiences. I would buy it for myself and extra copies for Christmas gifts!

Speaking of wardens, anybody know whatever came of the duck hunters that were caught in Tallapoosa County, think it was last year? Didn't they have like 47 wood ducks, hunting over bait?? Just wondering whatever came about from that story
