I was up in Cedartown GA today and drove past a late 90's Z71 for sale that looked awesome. So, I turned around to go check it out I need another truck for the woods and this one might be perfect. Walked up to it and it was almost like it was pulled.off the lot. Perfect!

Said it had 30k original.miles and then I saw the price. $41,500. I may be an idiot, but I'm not that stupid. That truck probably was less than 30k new. I would have gone $14-16 thousand (maybe) but what has happened to this screwed up world. It didn't even have a 3rd door.

Crazy times.

Sounds like someone’s wife “demanded” he sell it, so he put it up for sale at a stupid high price to pacify her, knowing nobody would buy it

As long as banks will keep loaning money like that for vehicles, people will keep right on paying it. However I doubt a bank will loan $40K on a 90’s model truck regardless of the miles.

The thing is, hyper inflation is coming. Suppose someone selling you a tank of gas wanted to charge you $3.25 a gallon. You didn't realize that gas was going to be $5.50 a gallon in about 10 month, so you walk away from it. Dealerships have pre-sold new cars that they don't even have on the lot. Take care of your used car. It has more value now than ever in the history of used cars in America.

I picked up a 2000 model Z71 4 years ago with 70k miles for $11,500. It’s been a great truck. No telling what it’s worth.

lol. So true. I just did a quick KBB check on my truck. Not sure how accurate it is but according to that, my truck is worth more now than it was 2yrs ago when I bought it used. I’ve put 40K miles on it since.

Part of the problem is all the new vehicles that are all put together except for one part that keeps them from being ready to sell. There are fewer and fewer vehicles at the dealerships here I know. So, it makes sense that used vehicles will keep or increase in value as supply is less. Besides, trucks have held a higher resale value for quite some time.

The same 2018 RAM 1500 Bighorn 4x4 that I bought at EchoPark Automotive a couple of months ago for an out the door price of $28000, has gone up at least $5000 since I bought it.

I hope it lasts me a long time.

According to KBB and NADA, my 2016 Tundra is valued at 10k more than I bought it for. Had it 2 years and put 30k miles on it.

I have seriously considered selling it and buying me and older/dependable truck and just pocket the left over cash.

Inflation is taking off thanks to Biden. Thanks to him we can't afford a new truck or the gas to drive it.

I'm out of the truck market until these prices come down from the moon. I'm now in the 4 door sedan market. I can get a premium 4 door sedan, loaded all the way out, with less than 40,000 miles, for less than $20K.

A comparable 4WD $ door truck with the same miles and year, and loaded out, is almost triple the price.

I love trucks and have never had anything but trucks, so I am keeping my current truck that has almost 250K miles, and getting a car to work and run around in. Will use the truck for hunting/hauling etc, to ,make it last for several more years.

I thought I would NEVER buy a dang car, but inflated prices say otherwise.

Folks can’t live without a crew cab truck or Tahoe and the auto companies know it. No price is too high. And I can’t see prices ever coming down.

Which EchoPark did you buy from Irish? We have been doing a lot of the mechanical for the EchoPark conversions lately.
