Do you blame them? I mean really if you owned a business and people kept buying your product even after going up 300%, 400% why would you drop the price. Laugh at all of us idiots all the way to the bank. You should be blaming everyone that keeps buying it, keeps building homes. Stop buying all over then it will go down.

People are going in debt up over their arse with the cost of Building materials going out the roof and their pay is not increasing. People have got to be damn idiots to be building at this time.

One big difference between now and the last recession is the type of mortgage. 15-20 years ago, folks were getting into ARM loans to buy houses they couldn't normally afford. I don't think that is the case right now. Yes, housing prices are over inflated so their value will go down when the economy hits the skids and interest rates are nearing double digits. So unless someone HAS to sell, they will be able to hold their assets until a recovery. People were trapped 15 years ago when their rates reset after 5 years and they couldn't afford the higher payment and their home values were less than they owed.

Just toured my friends house which is about 80% completed. There are 6 lots in his subdivision. None of the others are started yet and he found out that he may be lonely for an extended period. 3 if the neighbors have decided they can't go forward with the updated bids.

So, some slowdown is occurring.
