Is what 7/16" OSB was this morning. Bought 15' of 10-2 wire for town hall and it was over $40. Got a house going. They went ahead a paid for the framing packet. Cost was 28K over the quote they got after Thanksgiving. Blows my mind

I have three to start, I'm only brave enough to requote lumber on one so far and it has gone up $30K. Don't know whether to start and get it over with or delay and hope it goes down.
Fixing to be a lot of work for a little for the next 6 months for me.

I was about to say...sure pays to know someone with a portable sawmill. May could go back to the old tongue and groove rough cut on building homes.

We just ordered a woodmizer. Building 4 shooting houses and a very simple cabin. Looked at lumber, have 160 acres and plenty of trees.

They told me 28 weeks. Sounds like about Thanksgiving. I got plenty to do to get ready for it.

Think I'll just hold off and buy a good used woodmizer in a couple years. Ought to be several for sale once housing crashes and bottom drops out of lumber prices.

I just don't see the Lumber prices dropping a whole lot, Folks are paying 300 percent more (some is 400 percent or more) for Lumber and not even batting an eye.

Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many!

Finally got my sawmill in this week. Almost finished with putting it together. I have one more bed section they didn't send enough bolts for. Hopefully I can get enough lumber cut in the next couple weeks to build a shed for it.

Daughter and son in law started their new house. They prebought a lot of their material. I heard their builder , his dad , that their trusses would be $10,000 more than originally figured ? I'm volunteering as a gopher to help speed up the build and maybe save them a little money .
