Took my first one yesterday afternoon. Daughter had told me to have a couple days available. Said it makes some people feel bad. I'm one of those people. Feel like I been hit by a truck. I got up to go work awhile and in about 2 seconds I knew that wasn't happening. Gonna burn 4 hours sick leave.

Been thinking about getting one. I've seen several people suffer from shingles. Some in pain for years after the sores healed. I'll turn 55 in December and it don't look like I'm gonna get any younger.

BCBS covered the shot and Alfac gives me $60 for wellness care. Get to do it all again in mid July. Hope that one doesn't come with these symptoms

Yup. I had shingles when I was 29. I'll do most anything to keep from going through that again.

Do you have to go to the Doctor or can a Pharmacist give the shot.

Planning on getting first dose, but know from several folks that it can be rough for a few days afterwards. Want to get the protection.....but trying to plan to possibly be down for a few days sucks! But I keep telling myself that I don't want Shingles!! Much worse!!

One of my neighbors has had the shingles for over a year. Oh his chest and back. Couldn't even wear a shirt for months. Don't want to go that. He's about 10 years older than me. Told me it's the worst pain has ever had.

I had shingles maybe 6-7 years ago down my right arm. My fkn fingernails even hurt like crazy. I was eating a hydrocodone every two hours to keep from screaming. Lord it hurt. Went to ER. doc had me better in an hour, fine in two days.

I took the first one when I got my flu shot in December. No sweat, a little soreness in my arm. Took the second one a couple of months later and it laid me out for a day. But much better than shingles from all reports. I’ve heard several horror stories that convinced me to take it.

Most pharmacies offer this vaccine. I’m definitely taking this when I turn 50.

My dad got shingles in his leg right after a knee replacement. They weren't painful for him because they killed his nerves. He hasn't felt anything in that leg from the knee down since and has to use a walker now. That was over 5 years ago.

My dad had shingles for 11 years. It’s the only time I’ve ever saw him wince in pain. Literally was in hospital a few days with it. Fetal position and wouldn’t move they finally got the pain to subside and he checked out. I always thought it only lasted a short time but he had it on his shoulder blade region. When he went fetal it was all around both sides and lower back which was unusual.

I’m about to get the shot, I’d heard they were making changes so I’ve waited.

There are no changes that I’m aware of. Make sure you get the Shingrix version. You will get one dose initially and repeat that same dose in 2-6 months.

I had 'em a few years ago. Started on my head and progressed into my eye. Almost lost my eye from it. It took six months to completely get over it. I don't wish that on anyone. Now my vision is better in that eye. Go figure.
