Heard the other day that it is proposed to make dog hunting legal state wide again. Said it was being pushed by the big insurance companies. Anybody else heard anything?

To kill more deer. Bet Alfa is in the mix Hell...it seems like I never see deer on the roads anymore. If anything the herd population seems low.

Don't think dog deer hunting has ever been legal statewide.

Back in the 70s and 80s (and probably before) it was the way it was done and it was very fun-guess it phased out lat 80s and 90s - still see a dog club every now and then
Hunt the wind - leave it better than you found it - love your neighbor as you love your self We need prayer for our country now more than ever

Not true
The bill actually stiffens penalties for bad dog hunters and improves the DNRs ability to prosecute
In return the bill does open formally closed counties by a certain date. Counties such as Lauderdale never had a season so those counties are excluded. It would solve the convoluted and hard to understand mess of a permit system. Which was never used by the DNR as designed.
The whole issue is keeping dogs on your own property. Most dog hunters know that’s the issue and are spending thousands to do just that by tone breaking their dogs with the technology available. Pretty amazing to watch them stop a pack from a mile away.
Bad dog hunters and those not willing to do so are against it....... as usual.

Awe crap!!! I was hope a dog hunting season was gonna open. There’s 3-4 non stop barking dogs on the north end of our property that I was gonna really concentrate on. Guess I’m gonna have to keep hoping a huge oak tree would fall on them.

Club I hunted in Marengo county back in the eighties was not a dog club but had dog clubs west and south. Those sorry sumbitches didn't care where their dogs went. Shot one of them two miles inside our property. Today, we have the technology to control this.
If you want to use dogs to hunt YOUR property, please do it and I don't want to stop you.
But if the dog hunters don't care enough about their dogs or their neighbors rights to enjoy their property as they want, it's open season on pooches.

Problem with the proposed bill is that the ADHA has included blood tracking dogs into their verbiage. Blood tracking dogs are not deer hunting dogs. It has been shot down in the Senate, but they are reintroducing the bill to the house from what Ive been reading. Ive called my representative and several others in opposition to this bill. If youve ever had a deer lost and called on a tracker this bill will effect them if it passes. They want 2500.00 registration fee to be a hunt master through the state. Its just more gobbly goop and money.
It isn't necessary to see a good tackle...you can hear it.

I hope they do open the whole state back up for it and give the dog hunters the entire season to run. They pay just like everyone else to hunt. Theres no where near as many complaints as there use to be. My son lost interest in hunting when we got out of dog huntin. Theres not many kids thats going to sit in a tree stand for hrs waiting on a deer when they can be out in the woods laughing and playing while listening to a dog run. I got many memories doing it as a kid and my son has many to. We moved farther away from our lease or wed still be doggin.
