Don’t have as much room at the new house, so I’m going with a bucket garden this year. I built this nifty stand I saw online to hold the buckets and free up even more yard space. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.postimg.cc/Kvf2cJ6Z/062-BC8-AA-87-E1-4513-8-C4-A-F5530-F70042-B.jpg)

Looks like easy pickins! Got holes drilled in the bottom for drainage? Might try white buckets if the blues get to hot.

You going to paint the wood 🤔 Probably just use some sealant. I doubt I’ll be in this house more than a couple years, and I definitely won’t take it with me when we move.

I wouldn't drill drain holes in the bottom. You will struggle to keep water on them. I been doing a bucket garden for a few years now. I put one 1/2" drain hole in the side of the buckets 3" from the bottom. Fill the bottom 3" of the bucket with rocks and plant of top of them. Water till it comes out the hole. The roots grow down into the rocks and the plant has water to drink on.

Got my plants in last weekend that I started from seed and I’m pretty happy. Need to get some cages or stakes on the tomatoes as some of them are taking off. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.postimg.cc/Kzd7gTC1/C4-CB4-A86-E7-CE-429-D-A981-4524274-B10-E2.jpg)

Looks good but how are you going to pick the tomatoes on the back
Two roads diverged in the woods and I took the one with deep ruts, hills and mud.It may be bumpy but WHAT A RIDE!

Looks good but how are you going to pick the tomatoes on the back The two on the left are pepper plants so those won’t be an issue because they won’t get very tall. The two on the right are cherry tomato plants and if they get where I can’t reach them, I’ll just use a step stool.

It's fun to grow stuff but $250 buys lots of maters and peppers.... I hope you built it with stimulus money!
