His father sold Progress Rail in Albertville to Caterpillar and made $$$ and now Owns Dream Ranch. Big Gov. Bentley supporter which meant donations... Austin is a good kid, but just that a kid with a well to do father. Graduated from Boaz high in something like 02-03 and went to AU not sure of his Major at AU but it was not Wildlife or Forestry related. This is my BIGGEST problem with this system. That said, I don't want to be on it, but the folks on it should all be educated in a related background or in research based science. Folks with real world knowledge like Gobbler, Dr. Ditchkoff, Cris Cook, Bill Gray, Kevin Dodd and others of the same caliber are the ones that should be on a board like this. This board is nothing but POLITICS and Gov. Bentley has shown his true colors, he is nothing but a politician just like those before him!!!

I know one of them well. His family has a lot of land and has been at the forefront of land management for over 40 years in an area of Alabama that caught on later than the rest of the state. Heavily involved with Auburn and cattle. Comes from a good family and don't see any reason that his votes would be effected by money or politics.
My problem with Ainsworth is that due to his family's business his vote is always going to lean toward what is going to make their bus. more money by selling pay hunts in an inclosure. I don't blame him for wanting to increase business but he should be kept out of making decisions that effect the 99% that hunt in a free range environment.
Moultrie is out of the business but I'm sure he still pushes legalized bating pretty hard.
I've heard nothing but great things about Dr. Strickland
Grant Lynch- met him once. Nice guy. Was the CEO of Talladega Speedway. I think he is retired now but could be wrong.

Dan also pushes mandatory use of game cameras, climbing stands, Knight & Hale products and deer pee, too, when he's not delivering corn to legislators at the Statehouse through the special back door delivery elevator.
Ray Jones lobbies hard for all of their family's property to be bought by the state and turned into high fence squirrel farming. He's been secretly working for years to get Ainsworth on the board so they can collaborate and create a Squirrel-A-Lope with tiny antlers, making Cathedral Caverns the Quality Management Squirrel-A-Lope Association world headquarters because the secret breeding facility is located there amid the stalactites.
Speaking of stalactites, those aren't real. Bunn's concrete firm has been making them for years. They're damn good at it. The stalactites and stalagmites are so real that former Conservation Commissioner Jim Martin wanted to put dioramas in the caverns to add to the history but even he didn't know.
Grant Lynch uses the speedway as a front to import Squirrel-A-Lopes from Wyoming, Wisconsin and Maine. Those are Booner states but importation is tricky. They need speedy cars to move them around.
All that has just been kept real quiet, though.

What are the qualifications of our current CAB members in matters related to conservation and natural resources?
Fill in the blanks please. Most of us don't know these people:
Robert Bentley, Governor OB/GYN Physician
Not that is of any relevance but if I'm not mistaken, Robert Bentley was a Dermatologist, not an OB/GYN. Or....maybe he was originally an OB/GYN and doctorin' on some wimmens required him to be both?!

Are our natural resources in good hands folks? Help me out here. Keep those qualifications coming in. Let's try to get a true picture of what we are dealing with. Code of Alabama 1975 Section 9-2-14 Advisory Board of Conservation and Natural Resources - Created; composition; qualifications, appointment, terms of office, and compensation of members; residency requirements; meetings; record of meetings and proceedings; transitional members.
(a) There shall be an Advisory Board of Conservation and Natural Resources. The board shall consist of the Governor, the Commissioner of Agriculture and Industries, the Director of the Agricultural Extension System ex officio, and 10 other members to be appointed by the Governor, one of whom the Governor shall designate as chair of the Advisory Board of Conservation and Natural Resources. The appointed members of the board shall be selected with special reference to training and experience along one or more of the principal lines of activity vested in the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. The term of office of each appointed member of the board shall be six years. (emphasis added) Six (6) years? Sounds like they are using DCNR math again don't it?

Huntsville developer Raymond Jones Jr. Owns G.W. Jones engineering/survey. Owns several large farms in North Alabama. AU does some wildlife studies on them.

Didn't see this before, but I'll bite. Ray Jones is a hack of a nice guy and pretty knowledgeable about wildlife issues but no education of background in wildlife or conservation, just likes to hunt and manage their property. Lucky sperm club assignment. Grady Hartzog an accountant in Eufaula and is also a heck of a nice guy that has been involved with a bunch of conservation organizations. State and National DU boards, AWF, Forever Wild, etc. While no degree or background in wildlife, or conservation, due to his conservation mindset, probably as qualified as any I know of to sit on the CAB. Grant Lynch also is a good guy and involved in some conservation groups in the state and has a good knowledge of wildlife issues. McMillan - politically connected and $ Guy - same Moultrie - same... does selling feeders and deer pee make you qualified?? The only ones I know personally.
I swear by my life and my love of it that I will never live for the sake of another man, nor ask another man to live for mine

Jones family are nice folks. I'm a treasure forest owner, couple years ago we went on a tour/workshop on their PRV farm. Ray Sr. , Jr. and son-in law were there as well as their wives. Heck of a piece of property. AU does some research there.
