Just a reminder about these little retrievers. I've had 3 Boykins and 2 Field Bred English Cockers, and every one of them has problems with swallowing stuff that they can't pass. Most of my friends with these dogs go through at least one scare. Labs, and most retrievers, are notorious for it, but these pint size dogs can't pass the dish towels, leashes, socks, underwear etc, that Labs digest with ease. My 9 month old Cocker went down Monday AM, and the vet and I have been convinced it was bacterial, just something nasty he found at the lake on Sunday. The Barium x-rays today show something lodged in the stomach, so he'll operate tomorrow. White blood count is still good, so I don't think anything is septic yet.
Used to be a lifeguard, until that blue kid got me fired.
