Planning to purchase several quality ladder stands for next year, both double and single. What would your recommend and what would you stay away from?

They don’t make them as good as they used to. I guess most manufacturers needed to get the price point down. Having said that, now is a good time to look for clearance treestands. Walmart had some almost half off but sell very quickly. Maybe others can post any clearance stands they see

If money isn't an issue buy Millenium. They provide good quality construction, good height on all their stands and enough comfort without having to do any modifications to allow you to sit all day.

Our club has bought several Denali Hawk doubles. We got them on sale at Mike's Gun Shop in Pensacola for $179. Most comfortable stand i ever sat in. They are heavy and need 3 people to put up.

I do not like the doubles from Walmart, that bar in the back rather than having at least a tree to lean against is pain for the back. A chiropractor must have made those to increase his clientele. I have a millenium and an API ladder stand I bought from the Cabela's killer, they sit very well, but they are a little pricey . I would not buy a single, I like a little room for my back pack or binocs when I'm sitting all day.

I am looking to buy a few more, too, so this is an interesting thread.

I bought one of the Hawk Denali double stands and have been very satisfied with the comfort and stability. Seems to be well made. My only complaint is it is a heavy stand. Put it someplace where you won't move it.

My wife picked me one up a year or so back on clearance as a Christmas present. I sat in it for the 1st time this year and, while it may be a "double" stand, there is no room for 2 people unless their total weight is about 200#...I don't think my 14 yr old daughter, who is very small framed, and myself could sit in the stand together.

And, I'd like to use that bar across the back and beat the designer of the stand in the head with it. My ladder stand will be coming out of the woods in the next few weeks and some modifications being made to fix that uncomfortable back bar.

Dick’s makes a Millenium knock off that is very comfortable. Last time I checked they were all out of stock.

Most people don't know about Jimmy so they recommend other things.
He builds these stands himself out of Electrical conduit and they will outlast any other stand you put out.

It’s gonna have to be a mighty fine stand to be better than Family Traditions. Not only are they the most comfortable, my oldest ones are antiques...literally over 25yrs old and still in service. Got any pics of one of those Andress stands? I’m not scared to try something new and if they’re that good...sign me up.

Got my first Millineum stands last year and was very impressed with the quality. I have several Big Game and Muddy ladders and they're good, comfortable stands, but the higher quality is obvious when assembling the Millineum stands.

This is one of his double stands.
I'm a good 300 pounds and I'd bet I could sit in this stand with myself.

The family tradition treestands are built like a tank. Feels like it's part of the tree.

Do Big Oak ladder stands still exist? We've still got three that were bought in the late nineties and are still in really good shape. If I remember correctly, they were Alabama made.
