Jim Cirllo used a s&w model 10 to become a legend in police gunfights,Oh? 158 swc non hollow points too. Shot placement is the key. Throacic hip cranio ocular A B C if you can't hit a 3x5 card @3 yards it's on you to improve. Hindsight being 50/50 (as Pat Dye said) I can't blame the officer.

Yep cop waited till he could’ve been incapacitated by one or more of those shot from the board before firing. What happens to camera man if the cop got took out and then crazy had the gun? Should of put two in the face and two center mass as soon as the board filled the man’s hand.

Proven the best man stopping round is 125 grain hollow point from a 357

I kinda like a 165gr hp in 400 cor-bon. Plus a 1911 give you two more rounds

I’m in agreement that the officer needed to do something.. on the other hand i would like to have seen him
take that stick away from him and beat him with it.. what percentage of officers do you think are still physically
able to pass their physical again?

Lol "Looks like suicide" That's because 90% would've done the same thing as that officer and that man knew it if that was his plan...i don't think a 45 would've changed a whole lot, maybe maybe not...a 22 to his forehead would done better than what happened

Wrong! It's a total failure on your part to recognize a justifiable use of deadly force!

Now Scout, you know that officer should have called for someone to come and sit down with the gentleman and talk out the problem he was having.
But really that officer is dam lucky that stick was rotten and he didn’t take a solid hit to the head. Never shoulda let it get to that point. Rather be judged by 12 then carried by 6.

Instant death comes from headshots/CNS; otherwise they have to bleed enough to pass out and ultimately bleed out. I carry 15+1 in M&P40 along with double magazine pouch with 30 more. Golden Sabers shoot really well through my pistol and expansion is superb. Plus, the petals on the bullet after expansion would cut flesh easily. I'm with you guys, the dude would have had pizza face at that close of a range.

I try not to be critical on here but I have no idea how you can form that conclusion. Looks like the opposite occurred. Did you read the article? This man had to be stopped and he was about to potentially beat this officer if he wasn’t stopped.

you of still had to shoot his ass, dog on that junked up sob might not be a great help. My second or at least third shot would of been in his face.

The cop has 18 years of experience and let the situation get out of hand. He'd already called for back-up and probably should have waited for help. The crazy was a 52 year old IT specialist and was possibly high and/or wanted suicide by the police. Now the cop has to deal with the aftermath and the taxpayers are having to fund the cleanup and shooting investigation. The POS wasn't worth the all that trouble.

I get tired of all the armchair comments about how bad ass some keyboard jockeys would have been in the situation. How clearly would have you been thinking when getting beating with a board? Putting the shoe on the other foot, how would you feel if it was your brother, dad, son, or friend who had been temporarily deranged and ended up bleeding out on web posted video? Some of you guys sicken me with all your bluster.

And having a dog hanging off him makes shooting much more difficult. Worst case scenario, you have dog bite holes from too close misunderstanding between you and the dog, still have to shoot him and hitting your dog is a very real possibility.

Not sure which is more disturbing. The incident itself or the guy filming rooting for him to be shot, then seemingly happy about it

And the officer is alive to tell the story and went home to his brother and his kids. Dude is dead...END OF STORY
