GomerPyle OP Impatient Stinky Britches Wearin’ Off-Roadin’ Guru Joined: Aug 2014 Posts: 20,319 Northport, AL	If you had to guesstimate, out of ALL the deer you've ever killed, what percentage of them did you kill: Morning (before 10ish) Mid-day Evening (after 2ish) I ask because I've been kinda beating myself up about skipping a lot of mornings this season but I just can't get myself fired up enough to crawl out of bed at 430....but then as I started thinking back, I'd be willing to bet probably 75-80% of the deer I've killed have been in the last 2hrs of the day and the rest of almost all been very late-morning. I honestly don't know that I've ever killed one in the first 2hrs of daylight... There are 3 certainties in an uncertain world: 1. All Politicians Are Liars 2. All Gun Laws Are an Infringement 3. Taxation Is Theft

I favor mornings over evenings and rarely ever hunt a food plot except to kill a doe. The time a person kills can be heavily influenced by the type of places they hunt. I know a bunch of folks who kill nearly all their bucks in the evenings on private land food plots. That is just all they know.

In 35 years I can count the bucks I’ve seen 8 Points or better after 3:30pm on both hands and have some fingers left over. I’ve killed 1 buck worth mounting at sunset in all these years. I have to force myself to hunt in the afternoon because I just do not have any confidence in seeing anything worth shooting the last 2 hours of the day.
