In 1998 if I had of had one more 7 Mag round I would have killed a 155-160. I had used my last round to kill an 8 point a few minutes before and I know it would have been against the law but at that age I wouldn’t have cared. I would have shot him and still remember watching him run a doe around in a food plot like it was yesterday

Only deer I've seen close to 140 was 25 years ago near Pineapple. My old man's POS 3 wheeler got me to the stand that morning, but wouldn't crank to get me home for breakfast. About 45 minutes into my 2 hour walk home in the hills, I look up from my sulking and rock kicking to see a veritable stud crossing the road about 100 yards ahead. My hungover, tired, 20 year old butt woke up quick and threw a freehand .30-06 round down range and into the incline of the next hill. The monster turned his head, looked straight at me and laughed. Then bounded off, never to be seen again. Sadly, that's my only encounter with anything close to a 140 class whitetail buck deer.

I've killed two over 140" one was in Covington and Clarke. I might need to go back and refresh my memory on how to score because some of these deer sure look like 140' deer that y'all are saying they in the 130's. I hope most of yall do know you get 4 mass measurements regardless of points. That can make the difference between high 130" and 140" deer. I have seen a many 8 points get shorted that 4th mass measurement over the years.

Covington Cty 8 that I taped out over 140”. I’m not sharing the other deer.

Yep I'm guilty of that one myself Matt. I thought I had killed a freaking giant until I was informed I only get 4 mass measurements regardless of points whistle I had to go back and re-tape him for an accurate score. These was many moons ago and that's really when I learned to correctly measure a deer.

I had some history with the 8 I posted above. I passed him as a 130" 3 year old. Hardest thing I had to do in Alabama due the property he lived on. he lived on 100 tract of land and the neighbors knew about him. Word got back to me he would not get a pass at 4 so I killed him before he left his home to start chasing ladies. I wanted to see what that deer would become at 5 or 6 but knew the odds of him living that long were slim to none. I lost several good deer off that property due to poacher killing them at night in his back yard under a booger light. I had a fine 10 point that was young live through season to only show up on this dudes facebook page after season had closed.

I have been hunting since I was old enough to shoulder a rifle. I turned 28 in November, and I have never laid eyes on a deer as big as any in this thread. I do have two on the wall that were sure enough hammers to a guy like me but they can't hold a candle to any in this thread. The biggest of the two(per the taxidermist who mounted him) told me that he would likely fall somewhere in the low to mid 130s range. That one was killed in Franklin County. The other one is a decent buck that I believe most would be proud to shoot. In my unprofessional opinion, he was in the ball park of 110-115 but he weighed 187 lbs with the guts in him and I believe he was 5 years old... he was missing a couple of teeth. I killed him way off down in a swamp in Dallas County. Lord what a drag. This was in the years before I could afford a second hand four wheeler.

Taxidermist wall PIC the day of pick up.

Won't ever forget that morning.

That is my only 140's but I do have a couple in mid 130's that joins him on the wall.

God has blessed me a few times in my deer hunting endeavors.

I've killed 2 in the 150's both from Pike County, both about 15 years ago. Never killed anything in the 140s and only 1 in the 130s. I can think of 2 or 3 others that I have ever gotten a picture of on my place that would get in the 140's.

I killed a 141 11 pt on Tuscaloosa/Green Co line 15 years ago and a 133 10 point n Lamar three years ago. I let a LOT walk! I’m happy to shoot a good cull but I don’t see as many in Fayette n Lamar Counties like I used to see n Wilcox n Butler Counties.
